Default Tased at the Baseball Game

Long story short, a 17 year old fan ran out on the field at the game last night (not CO) and a security guard used his taser on him. Thoughts? Too excessive, adequate, or not enough use of force?

Hmmm. If I had a Taser, I'm afraid I'd use it every day.

I used to joke that if I ever snapped and flipped out I wouldn't go on a shooting spree with a firearm, but I'd get a tranquilizer gun and a whole lot of people will get a nice long nap with an orange dart sticking out of their ass......

Seriously though, to answer your question, I think a Taser is a great tool for law enforcement and private security. I didn't like fighting/wrestling with 17 year old kids when I was 17. I sure as heck don't want to do it now. That's the beauty of the Taser, one little zap and the trouble maker is twitchin' like a fish out of water. Problem solved.

Why chase the kid when you can just end it quickly? Besides, it may help to keep other would-be field rushers in the stands. Is running around a ballfield waving a towel worth getting tased?

And judging by that security guards speed... they'd have been chasing him an awfully long time if he didn't use the taser.

Probably the most exciting thing to happen during the whole game. The MLB should cut him a check.

But with the deaths from tasers, would it be worth the risk of taseing a minor in front of all those witnesses? Could have ended pretty ugly.

Sounds like he should have thought about those deaths from tasers before he jumped into the field.

So long as he doesn't vacate his bowels in front of everyone, I'm good with it.
