It's my understanding that in Colorado, employment is "at will". In other words, either party can terminate employment at any time, with or without reason.
Also, it seems like in this economy a lot of employers are are really taking advantage of the fact that jobs are hard to come by right now and employees, knowing this, are more likely to put up with it. Once the economy comes back around I'll bet her employer is singing a different tune.
