Reading the comments: It's honestly amazing to me how much "life experience" plays into peoples idea's of what they read. Two people reading the same material can come up with complete opposite summaries of what they've read... The human mind is an amazing thing.
I still stand by passing the law. Illegal is illegal. Tap, rack, and Bang. Two in the head and you know they be dead.
Nothing in there that we didn't already know about. Two points.
1) LOL about finding two whole Koran Bibles when they claim that 1,200 people a day pass through.
2) The difference in quality of immigrants that get over here from over seas through legal channels is very significant. It is very clear that a very large border wall is a great solution to this problem.
"There are no finger prints under water."
It blows my mind how many of the comments to this article come from people who think this bill is racist. Seriously, how does making it harder for ILLEGALS to be here ILLEGALLY constitute racism? If Americans cross the borders to any number of other countries illegally there are strong and costly consequences. But not here, we have to be nice and friendly and ignore our laws and our border town people's safety, WTF!!???![]()
There are a lot of people who are using this bill as a cover to say racist things, and they are afraid that cops will use this law as an excuse to be racists as well. However, I have to agree, there is not a damn thing that is racist about this law.
"There are no finger prints under water."
that article helped clarify a few things for me.
I was concerned about a carte blanche stop and identify law.
She makes it a point that it must be during a legal stop (for other reasons).
So that means no extra burden on americans to prove their identity.
which makes me happy.
Just in case someone thinks that we don't need to show our Photo ID, just try using your credit card to buy an Ice Cream Cone like the fella in todays Gazette's political cartoon.

Its a classic use of ad hominem ... the idea is that you don't argue the facts of the bill, you simply label it "racist" and then you no longer have to engage in reasoned argument you simply shout it down.
The simple fact is that most of those that oppose this bill want to open the American border to make Americans into "citizens of the world" and end American sovereignty.
You can't establish a Singular Global Government (with the power to tax everyone) with all these pesky "Nation States" allowed to manage their own affairs (immigration being one of them).
Just another play at taking from the productive to give to the non-productive so they will prop up the political elites.
Emotions run strong and deep about SB107.
Just like the emotions about Robert Krentz ,thread that was here,on CO AR.
We just need to bring our servicemen/women home.
Let them patrol our borders, arrest any illegal crossing, the northern and southern borders.
Let them serve 5yrs hard labor building our new security fence.
ILLEGAL what is not understood?
