    Default Blog from Mil Contractors

Now that the various Military policies have shut down a lot of the old combat blogs, these defense contractors are posting some interesting stuff.

I guess there's an unforseen upside to carrying an AK.

Raises a question I've been wondering about:

How do they get a hold of the weapons?

I know some PSC's who when they are in country must use personal gear. Thus relagated to semi autos or pre ban weapons for SEC fire.

But I hear stories of people with access to modern firearms... are these issued to them, etc?

Who are you referring to? I presume the Afghans as most of the contractors are very professional and honorable men. A few bad apples aside, those men put up with the international BS only to have 30% or more of their pay taxed, just to feed their families the only way they know how...with their blood and sweat.

Most of the autos over there belong to the individual companies. Contractors provide some gear, although anything on the ITAR list is brought over by the company and accounted. It's not uncommon to have certain expendables brough back such as holsters, Eo Techs, lights, plate carriers, etc...

    ITAR list?

If an operator happened to earn their keep, would they be able to bring home the trophies or would the firearms still be illegal? (I hate that stupid law)
