I think there should be a benefit for this site. The retailers receive a benefit of the sale of their goods here. I think it would only be fitting if this site receive some type of benefit for assisting in their sale. They are making money off these deals, so the site (and / or site operators) should be in some way compensated.

No freeloaders!!! Give a portion of the sale to the site, or to the members via some discount or kickback. It is not easy to create a demand for your products and services. It is also not free of charge.

Want me to visit your site? Well then you pay someone to enhance you search results (= money). Want to create demand and brand awareness? Again this cost money!

Your probably right. But this is a "Rant" is it not? I just want the people who put forth the effort to benefit from it. Not me personally, I already reap the benefits of this site.

As far as online auctions and the seller asking to call prior to placing a bid:

If it is a true "Brick and Mortar" firearms shop then I think that is not a bad thing. The dealer has his items for sale at his shop and subject to changing inventory.
What would you rather- Placing a quick call first or the piss off factor of bidding only to find out they sold it 2 days prior?

Now if it is some Dbag that has no inventory-screw em!

I too am all for private sales only. It sucks when I click on "New Posts" and 90% of them are for sale ads and about half of those seem to be dealers. This isn't Gun Broker.
