    I dont think the Russians would ever thought that far... they probably let them go and at about 100 yrd or so, they run a small arms target drill.

    Any SOF unit commander would understand the implications of leaving evidence, and so would his superiors relaying the orders to him. The Spetz are one of the best. They sunk that POS ship well far out of range of anything they were carrying.... Those waters have massive current, deep enough to make diving for the wreck very costly and difficult, and are filled with nasty critters.

    Kuznetsov appeared to echo those concerns when asked why the pirates who seized the tanker were released.

    "Why should we feed some pirates?" he said.

    "Perhaps we should get back to the idea of establishing an international court and other legal tools" to prosecute pirates, he said. "Until then, we'll have to do what our forefathers did when they met the pirates."

    with all the other boats that have disappeared with no trace in those waters and now the pirates boat? some how there is a poetic justice in that, I say a toast to justice
