Thanks to FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS. You are the first person to actually give me the name of a place to buy from. I already own my own ar's. This is a late purchase idea, so no time to build. Yes I know he will have to put the gun in his name. The question was-- WHERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO GO!!

Welcome to the forum, I hope we can be of assistance to you.
What these folks are trying to tell you is that it is considered appropriate (proper Forum etiquette) to first go into the "New Member Sign In" forum (http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=97) and post an introduction thread before launching off with requests for info.

There's still time - hop on in there and start a new thread for yourself.

ETA (Edit To Add): Sorry, posted this before reading all of your responses. Just because you aren't a CO resident doesn't mean you can't be a member here though - especially since you are an AR fan already. And, with your son getting an AR, he should definitely join this site, so... Once you get him the AR, point him this direction. We promise to look after him for you.

Looking for basic M-4, and he can build from there. Thanks in advance.

    Two things:
    (1) Adopt me!

    (2) What part of the state does your son live in (knowing that can help us taylor info for you)?

    edit places to go too:
+1 Jensen's arms in loveland they normally have a ton of stock very cool place lots of toys.

in boulder there is a gun shop off 14th and arapahoe called gun sport they normally have 2-6 Ar's depending. not a bad place only problem is boulder tax sucks!

5280 would be another choice closer to denver.

Thanks to all who responded. My son lives in Broomfield. I've taken care of the gun issue. I will try to post something on new member board and will pass along to my son. And I think I will pass on the adoption thing. The kids I have are expensive enough, and now there are grandkids.
