you would think that when the new people seen tools and such in there they would have told the office, unless they thought they had a score of free tools.

Winner.... but honestly is a trivial pursuit in todays culture.

I don't think that ripping off the people who were just unloading their stuff where they were told to, is the way to resolve the issue at all. Nearly every single place I've ever moved into has had stuff left behind.

God I hated living in apartments.

    I feel your pain man.

The last place we lived at there was a guy that wasn't really right in the head. He always played with everyones kids out by the clubhouse. Anyway one day he tells me "this key opens all the storage units". Me thinking yeah right bub knowing his condition. So I thought why not take him up on his word and escorted him to our personal storage unit. Sure enough he puts the key in and opens the damn door. Turns out his dad was one of the maintenance guys there. Him and his son regularly went through peoples shit. We reported it and got some lame excuse and an apology.

How do you know your tools are still in there?

I'd get my hands on my property ASAP.

Might want to consider INSISTING on a cop or Sheriff's Deputy being present when the garage is cleared out, just as a precaution to prevent any BS. They do that for evictions, don't they?

Absolutely involve the PD.. you have rights here and the complex is just expecting you to forget that. Insist that they, the complex immediately move the other persons property and insist that there be a cop there to assist in supervising along with you so that you can ensure that your property hasn't gone missing. If it is, make damn sure you let the complex know that they are liable for the full replacement costs of said property because of their failure.

I hope you have renters insurance as well!! If not, get it.
