I hope its true but I have to agree with BS, why would they leave survivors and who the hell is going to trust a "Pirate Spokesman?"

Hopefully the Russians did clean 'em out and send an important message to them...

I don't agree with everything the Russians do, but if this is on the mark then good on 'em. Probably wouldn't take too much of this to make them re-think their career choice. I think we should take a page from the Brits and Germans, and put together a few "Q" ships and let the pirates have at them. Let 'em go running up on what looks like a helpless old merchant ship, and then when they start shooting drop the sides of the superstructure and open up with 40mm Bofors and maybe a couple of 20mm Vulcans. There ought to be a bunch of Vulcans in the boneyard, they can just take a few and adapt them. See how long it takes for them to lose their appetite for piracy after some of that!

Anything to try to make them look more like an appropriate and official entity.

The "spokeman" makes it sound like the pirates were interupted in the middle of a legal and sanctioned activity.

These are the same dumba$$e$ that use their boats which are slightly better than rafts to attack warships from nations all across the world. One would think that the armor looking hulls and huge deck guns would be a hint that they shouldn't attempt to hijack those ships, but .......
