    Default Another Trigger Thread

It's "Trigger Time" with Tim the Tool Man... *cue music* da-da-di-daaaaa

    Okay,
So I got to looking at some builds that people have done on other sites. I am curious as to information about trigger. I played with my rifle last night and noticed that there is a lot I'd like to do with my trigger.... I'll leave that wide open for jokes.....

I think of a decent trigger as:

    1.) No lateral creep
    - I think the word is "pretravel". This is where when you put your finger on the trigger it will not move backwards to a "wall" but it is already set at the "wall" (break point?).

    2.) A clean break
    - A moment where you definitely feel the trigger release the sear engaged. No extra travel/movement and the "click" is crisp/tight.

    3.) Miniscule post shot movement
    - "Backtravel"?? There is where after the shot breaks, the trigger barely moves backward.

    4.) Quick reset
    - Since there is so little movement, the reset would be quicker....

Now, the trigger on my rifle has a lot of movement and a lllooonnnggg break... Is there a replacement out there that I could "drop in"? I've heard of Timney and Basix, among others, but does anyone have experience acheiving what I see as a decent trigger?

    Thanks for the discussion.

I took 2 rifles to Bill Springfield in the Springs and am very happy with the results. Nice and crisp 4lb triggers for 35-40 each and not shipping it around.

It was recommended by some others on the board and I am very happy with the results.

Sorry Hoser. It's a bolt gun. I posted pics about two days ago. Just got it back from the DBM install and am thinking about triggers...

Esaabye - I'll look into him. Thank you Sir.
