    Default Grand Valley shooting

Here in the Grand Valley on the Western Slope, we are very lucky. We can just go a few mile north to the desert and take our pick of spots to set up at and target practice. We also have another good spot to the east of Grand Junction and south of Palisade that is great for shooting. For those that like the indoor range feel, the Division of Wildlife has an indoor range. I would have to say for avid shooters, this area is great.

It is unsettling to hear "Those are the guns off of Modern Warfare" as the group of guys next to you stop what they are doing to oogle your weapons. Then as if that mentality is not bad enough, when you call our clear with the rest of the shooters at the range, you hear the same guys asking eachother, "what does that mean?" It was at that moment in time today that I decided the range at 27 1/4 RD was no longer a place in which I wanted to go. C RD is a lot better, no cover, but also, no worry about idiots being next to you.
