    Default Scope Recommendations

Guys I need some recommendations for a rifle scope.

    REM 700 .223 1-12 twist.

My preferred load is 50gr V-max

So I would like to get some ideas for good glass that I can dial in for distances.

I am not sure what a good power range is either.

My budget is in the 500 range.
    Thanks Chris

    Leupold 6.5-20 or 4.5-14.

Grab a used or a demo one.

Horus Vision Hawk - front focal plane reticle. Takes some getting used to but effective for doping wind and distance without dialing turrets.

Nikon Monarch with upgrade to target turrets

The Horus crosshairs get too think under high magnification and obscure too much of the target. And Horus customer service is crappy to non-existant.

in my opinion you're crazy if you don't at least look at the vortex vipers. they have gone way down in price now that they have the pst and razor. you can get them from optics planet for like 250 all the way to 20 some magnification and ive compared it to my leupold and its easily as good if not better. plus their warranty is ridiculous.
