I really liked the dog's reaction. But the first thing I did after watching was to call my AF son at Ft Hood. He's my hero.

He could tell I was almost crying when I was talking to him, I think. Prolly thinks the old man is a little wacked.

There are two times in my life where I can remember my dad ever saying "I'm proud of you". The first time was when I joined the USAF. The second time was when I invited him to my USAF retirement. Make sure your son knows how you feel.

I don't think I've been away from my children ever long enough to get that kind of response. I can't imagine the feeling of having it, nor the sacrifice in earning it.
