Default TheInternet engraves a 1911 – Work in progress

Some of you may have seen some of my work, so I figured some may like to see the progression of it.

The first step is taking total responsibility for your actions; if you screw up a pretty 1911, well, that will suck. Gotta have that faith in your own abilities, I guess.

Here it is with the initial sketch / engraved marks; no turning back now. More pics to follow as more work is done.

Brings to mind a quote from a good movie:

"That’s how you become great, man. Hang your balls out there!"

    Good luck!

That's what I thought when I read the title too.

TheInternet, do you freehand it all, or do you design it out in advance and project the design onto the slide to be marked before cutting? It would be tricky to get a design to project over the curve without distortion, but a little curve tool should make it work, especially if you can test it in real time using a projector display.

Thanks for the kind words, all!

Got some more of the outline finished.
