In the documentary Food Inc, it mentions how many agribusiness companies actively recruit workers directly from Mexico (they show the signs in Mexico advertising work in the US at specific companies), then the local authorities will bust and deport a few people here and there, while completely ignoring the fact that the only reason those people are here, is because the local slaughter house invited them. They (agribusiness) have such a hold over the poor communities that they are located in (apparently) that no one will stand up to them or say anything.

Just something to consider (the broader picture) before this thread turns into another misguided diatribe about shooting illegals on site as they cross over.

Personally, I think that is the main reason the Federal government won't do anything about the immigration issue, way too many ties to big business.
