    Default I hate turkey tape

I bought a Mossberg at a garage sale yesterday. It sold cheap because the owner couldn't get the tape residue off of the gun and it looked bad. I tried a number of things around the house. Goo Gone worked the best. Man what a bunch of rubbing. That stuff stuck like "glue" lol

Sometimes. Like disolves like, and not all adhesives are petroleum based. Goo Gone is some interesting stuff as it's acidic from citric acid and also has a natural oil from the orange's skin that hinders re-adhesion. I use it with a cheap terry cloth that I can throw away as most of the adhesive ends up in the cloth. I usually follow up with Hoppes after cleaning off the gunk to get the Goo Gone off. Don't let it linger on the gun for any long period.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

The Goo Gone will affect the finish if you leave it on too long or melt the stock. I did follow up with wd 40.

These things are so ugly, why would anyone want pictures?
