Sounds like some cool highlights to a job.

Late last year I got to see my favorite band playing at the Bluebird. They're pretty popular in the UK, generally playing 5-10k sized venues (they've filled the 70,000 seat Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in their time too). Because they're relatively unknown over here tickets were something like $20. I got to meet a lot of ex-pats who'd driven and flown in from Nevada, New Mexico and Texas just to see them.

Don't be like that and just not tell us who the band is.

I can remember when concert tickets were $5.50-$6.50-$7.50, depending on the seating. Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Arena in OKC. First concert I went to was The Doobie Brothers in '73 or '74.

Aldo Nova at The Rainbow was the first concert I went too.

I have seen Van Halen, Metallica, NIN, Ministry, Bowie, Curve, Def Leppard, Journey, Scorpions, Queensryche, Ratt. Prob missing a couple.

Nowadays you'd have to pay me to go to a show.

I'd be surprised if anyone had even heard of them in passing. They're called Manic Street Preachers.

jerrymrc: nice list. Particularly jealous of Floyd, Zep, and Parliament.

Apparently my music collection has some overlap with Hoosier's.

First one, early teens I think.... was.... nope, I can't admit it.

And no matter what anyone says, it definitely was NOT Huey Lewis, and my parents and little brother certainly weren't there.

    Moving on, no particular order:

Mighty Mighty BossTones - went to school out thar for a year when they were just starting to get known.
Several shows, all small venue... incl. inside one of the campus dining halls!

Ha, I just remembered walking by the Spin Doctors at some multi-school thing in a convention center back then too, there were maybe 20-30 people watching...

    Fishbone
    Primus (x2?)
    Bim Skala Bim
    NIN x2 (3?)
PWEI (just cuz they opened for NIN really)
    Rush x2
    Living Colour x2-3?
    Tom Petty x2
    CSNY '06 tour
    Black Crowes x2
    Prince
    Tool
    Puscifer
    Albert Collins
    Robert Cray
Almost forgot Nina Simone (here in Denver on her final tour - RIP)
Lots of live blues acts in misc Chicago places

Wow... I feel like I "never go to concerts", and I know there are more.
    I might have seen Coolio...?

Oh and let's not forget all the rawkin' wedding bands and dj's out there!!
