US troops are to be used to keep invaders to enter Germany, South Korea, Japan, Poland, etc etc etc -- but not US.

There is a difference between fighting wars etc and enforcing civilian law. Be happy that the difference is there. We used to use the military in this capacity all the time, and it always turned into a bloodbath. Most of them, history has shown, were wrongful but that doesn't help the big huge pile of dead bones out there from it. There is a lot of gray area and some things are allowed like the loaning of equipment from the military to and LE agency. It can get confusing pretty quick, but every military lawyer in this country can pretty much make the call on the legality of the gray area within 24 hours. Bottom line though, US Federal military troops cannot enforce civilian laws, especially not while on US soil. You want them to build you a great big fence with razor ribbon, electricity, and bury it 40 feet down too. Yep, they can do that. You want them to detain someone more than likely NOT US military for a violation of civilian law regardless of location in the world? Nope.

This is nothing more than political pud-whacking sending any troops down to the border.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Anyone that thinks war is good is ignorant. Anyone that thinks war isn't needed is stupid.

This clears it up for me.
