I love that book. Been meanning to get my own copy of it since 1995 when I first read it. (Still has me totally spooked about grisslies!)
I especially loved the story of the little girl whose family just moved there. The community men folks went out for whatever (hunting?). Thte little girl went to pick berries. Later, when the men returned and the girl hadn't, the started a search for her - found her curled up asleep, with her berry bucket next to her and FRESH bear prints all around her.
"Heywood Jablowme". That still has me cracking up too!
