    Default Disappointed with Neighbors....

So, here it is, Memorial Day, only my next door neighbor and I have the American flag flying. I know the rest of them have one. Cause you saw one on every house after 9/11...

I want to go door-to-door and remind them what this holiday is about...

Maybe they'll put it up after they get from the mattress store.

I'm guilty of not flying the flag today...I know embarassing(sp)! It's because I just got new siding on the house and haven't put the flag anchor up. I do though, have several American Flag ornaments(sp) in the yard so I hope that helps...Happy Memorial Day

Don't take it too personally. I'm a disabled vet and don't even have one up. My HOA does not allow flagpoles therefore I can't display one properly (flags are correctly hung horizontally or vertically, not diagonally). Stupid HOA's...

same boat here with the HOA, but a flag flying crooked is better than no flag flying at all

Memorial day is about flying the flag? I thought it was about remembering and appreciating those who fought and died to protect this country.

No, its not about flying the flag, BUT flying the flag is yet another way to show your appreciation and remembrance of their sacrifice...

Memorial Day is also one of those days designated where the flag should be displayed in particular...

We're all on the same page about what this holiday is about. So, don't take this as being argumentative, just explaining my position...

Yeah I can dig it, it just seems to me that if you expect everyone to fly the flag, then those who do won't be as special. Also, like wearing an American flag pin on your blazer or having one on your car. Seems like it gets to the point where if you don't have one, you aren't considered patriotic. The American flag I own that means the most to me is the patch my relatives wore through Vietnam. I had one on my car, but scraped it off when the sun started washing the colors out. My favorite is the olive drab velcro one on my go-bag.
