I believe that some of the same trails connect from aspen. There is always snow in that area year round. We hunt the snowmass-maroon bells area and find snow above 11k all the time.     Ended up going up to Crystal lake (I think that's what it was called, right up by Marble, CO). Was very scenic and would recommend a visit if you get the chance:
