Well, we watched The Crazies tonight. Pretty disappointing. For the first 30 minutes I was surprised at how well it was put together. However, the first plot holes and character development faux pas start right about then and the movie falls apart. About halfway through the film I've given up on liking it and I just want everyone to die because their character is so terrible.

Spoilers: The first plot hole is how the sheriff goes from where ever the train drops him off with the rest of the town. He goes back for his wife, and when he gets there (and meets up with his deputy) WHOA! all the cars have boots and there is no transportation. How did he get there again? Then there were a bunch of stupid little things like when the military guys are searching the barn and one of them says to the other, "The military is pulling back to the perimeter." How dumb is the audience supposed to be?

I pretty much hated the wife, who starts out being all strong in the face peril, but the second she gets home she turns into a retard for the rest of the movie. Pretty much every scene was predictable, down to the nuke at the end. Also, I don't know shit about nukes, but I'm pretty sure they were only like 1/2 mile away. If you're close enough to have the blast roll your truck over, aren't you pretty much dead in a few hours? Movie sucked. <<

I liked it actually, much better than I thought it was gonna be. Have you seen the original?

No sir. I didn't know it was a remake, but I'm not at all surprised.

Everything in Hollywood is a damn remake these days... But yeah, it's a George Romero film

Just finished watching Band of Brothers. I thought it was VERY well done. I liked to see actors that I never thought I'd see in a war movie, like David Schwimmer and the guy from Office Space. It was very touching and a great piece of history.

Has the Pacific finished its run yet?

Also, Gloria was watching Daybreakers, and from what I saw, it wasn't as bad of a movie as I thought it would be. I'll have to sit down and actually watch the whole thing sometime.

egad, it's a shame if you waited until 2010 to see Band of Brothers. Oh well better late than never.

The Pacific is done. Comes out on DVD Nov 2. Don't wait until 2019 to watch it.

Daybreakers was meh. Not unwatchable, but could have been better.

Recently saw two great movies if you're in the mood for crass, over the top camp and comedy.

Black Dynamite and The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.

I've been wanting to see Black Dynamite. I don't/didn't/have never had HBO though. I kept hearing about Band of Brothers and thought I'd watch it.

I still haven't seen Braveheart, despite having it in my possession more than once. I'll get there.

Right now I just got a movie called Fido on a recommendation from a friend. I guess it's a zombie movie?

Agree on daybreakers, wasn't a fan.

Unfortunately, I'm one of the few that hasn't seen Band of Brothers yet either. Coming soon from netflix.

And hell yes on Black Dynamite (and Superbeasto). I'm a huge fan of the old blaxploitation films, and have the Shaft series, Superfly, Black Belt Jones, etc, so Black Dynamite was amazing.
