It is a proven money maker. People like things with which they're familiar. It's nothing more than that. It's the same reason that Pele complain that pop songs all sound similar. They actually do because there is a known formula for creating music that will become popular and sell lots of records. Same thing with story telling, switch up the characters, update settings and time lines, instant success.

It has little to do with millennials, it just seems like it because your memory is longer now than it was when you were a kid. Every year when I go hunting with my uncle, we spend all of our down time watching old westerns. He tells me who all the actors are, which other movies they were in, when they died, why new westerns aren't as good, etc. Even those old westerns all follow a similar story line. Bad guys show up in otherwise quiet town. Towns folk are upset but don't have the guts to take on bad guys themselves. Good guys step up to clean up the town, but they're out numbered! Also, there is one random lady with a huge rack. It's a theme that works, so is often repeated. It's just about money.

Way to go Iving. You spoiled every western I haven't watched yet.
    My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."
