I really enjoyed Watchmen. The book is really dense, and although it's ultimately good it was very hard to get through the first time but the movie did a good job of adapting it. Unfortunately the fanboys, I guess like most fans, don't realise that you have to trim these things down for the screen.

I've read The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, V for Vendetta, Watchmen and From Hell and League aside they all were good adaptations if you aren't too precious about the source material.

I suppose graphic novels works best. From Hell is too extraordinary in its depth to be called a comic. At the end of the anthology I have, Alan Moore has added pages of references to the actual historical happenings that support his Jack the Ripper theory.

I liked V for vendetta. when parliment was exploding at the end I had to chew my lip to keep from cheering. I love the 1812 overture.

League was good as well, in a campy action movie way. (hell I loved hudson hawk)

never read watchmen, and thought the movie sucked. complete shit.

today I watched the bounty hunter. utterly forgettable.

a couple of days ago I watched hot tub time machine. mildly funny, but not nearly as good as the hangover.

I liked time machine much better after reading a theroy on imdb that bald guy was actually successful in killing himself and the rest of the film is his afterlife. makes much more sense when looked at from that perspective.

Jake, I've never read a graphic novel before, but am intrigued.

I can totally see how people wouldn't like Watchmen though.

Most movie goers know about Roman Polanski, the talented director who drugged & raped a 13 year old girl. He then fled overseas so he have a great life. When he came back into the news with an attempted extradition a bunch of artistic types came to his defense since artists can do what they want. Creeps!
