The movie that did that for me was Requiem for a Dream. T'was done by the same director who just did Black Swan, I believe...

Also, just watched Restrepo. Man, that was an intense movie.

It's called "I love you, Phillip Morris." He plays the role of a gay man, and it was a bit.... much.

Talk about putting the "fun" in dysfunctional. The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia is one farked up documentary. This is the third doc in the Jesco White saga that started with The Dancing Outlaw.

I thought Rock Star was alright too, but yeah the soundtrack is not bad. If you like movies that cover the good years of music "Almost Famous" is a good one... especially the sing-a-long part when they play "Tiny Dancer," a buddy of mine was in San Francisco when the Foo Fighters played their cover and Dave Grohl said "aw hell, let's just skip to the chorus and everybody sing!"

Loved that one. Brings back drunken memories of my musician days, or at least tries to.

The worst thing about that movie: every time I watch it, I have "stand up and shout" stuck in my head for days.

I guess I'm just hard to please. Couldn't stand the Fighter. Couldn't even finish The Green Hornet. The King's Speech bored me to sleep. The Black Swan was ok but not my favorite Aronofsky movie. Jeff Bridges does a great Karl Childers in True Grit. I kept waiting for him to say "I reckon, mmm".

Watched Rubber last night. Probably my 2nd favorite intro, after Reservoir Dogs. Pretty fun absurdity.

    "What's the point!"

Black Death was better than expected. The plague and the inquisition. What could be more entertaining? Nobody expects the inquisition!

Hey all, I just watched "The Mechanic" with Jason Statham last night- terrific action flick with some really awesome action. Not the thinking man's movie, so don't go into thinking you'll be enlightened, just great action entertainment.
    I suggest this to anyone!
