Default Some people will never get it

BO's approval ratings are 48%. I can't believe ½ of America approves of the job he's doing. I see no hope for the future. No matter what, people are going to support 'their guy'.

Well, that's probably only half the people who care enough to be surveyed. NPR has been running stories about how all the people who worked their asses off to get him elected are extremely disappointed in the results. Basically it is exactly like what Sarah Palin said with her "How is that 'Hopey Changy' thing working out for you?"
"There are no finger prints under water."

What they arent telling you is the 48% is out of the 100% that voted for him..............

You got that one right! At Rasmussen the state that 48% of democrats storngly approve of Obama. but of non-affiliated only 12% strongly approve and 52% strongly disapprove. Of course 75% of Republicans strongly disapprove of Obama. (as of 6/16/2010)

    Default Meh.

I really don't place any faith at all in "polls".

(I appreciate you posting the information, but I have a pretty strong background in statistics (well, at one time I did but that was awhile ago) and I realized that it is possible to manipulate the data/polling to come up with any conclusion you like and still have it be considered "statistically significant")

Yes, statistics and figures can be manipulated to say anything.

Check the % of people who are sucking on the govt teat, the % who have no tax liability, and the % who approve of anybody with a (D) next to their name no matter what.

So long as they come from good polling agencies they are good as gold and getting better all the time. When was the last scientific poll you saw that was wrong? I'm not talking Fox News, CNN, Denver Post. I mean polls like Rassmusen, Gallup and the likes.

Look how close they were in the Presidential race. Polls said 52.1 to 44.5 Obama winning. The actual results 52.9 to 45.6. They were off by .3%. That's tough too, nation wide is very difficult to get. So local stuff is even better.

Real Clear Politics takes the averages from all the good polls out there. Here's where I got my data for the Presidential race:

Polls fluctuate so much that it's tough to gauge anything from them, however I like to hear them because A) I think they do represent SOMETHING, it depends on the poller and B) especially when they support MY causes .
