Default "There's just some people we need to kick off the planet"

Said by a UT prision guard that has participated in an execution by firing squad. He also said "I've shot squirrels I've felt worse about"

I'd buy that guy a tasty beverage of his choice if I had the chance.

Several years ago on 60 Minutes (I think) there was an interview with a SWAT sniper. He was asked why he did what he did and his reply has always been my favorite "some people just need to be shot". He never batted an eye and looked directly at the interviewer when he said it. My hero !!!
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

    I'm liking this quote.

"The death penalty," the officer says, "is nothing more than sending a defective product back to the manufacturer. Let him fix it."
"The Second Amendment fails to mention hunting. Highly trained police officers miss with roughly 80 percent of their shots in a gunfight. Get a clue. Your Secret Service officers carry (at least) 30 rounds EACH. Is your life more important to you than mine is to me"?

I called and left a voice mail with the Department of Corrections Public Relations officer. I want to know if you can attend the execution like you can other ones.

    Ah crap, never mind:

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/...n6561528.shtml

Aside from staff, as many as 25 individuals may witness the execution from three observation rooms that surround the execution chamber, according to the department memo. The witnesses include relatives of the victims, representatives for the state, news media and individuals selected by Gardner.

Once the witnesses are in place, the prison warden will open the curtains on the observation room windows. Gardner will be asked for any last words.

Then, after a final check for a stay with the Utah attorney general's office, comes the order to the executioners, who fire from a distance of about 25 feet.

The gunmen stand behind a wall cut with a gunport, their rifles bench-rested to assure accuracy, DeLand said.

The guns are handed out randomly to the officers. One will be loaded with a blank, so no one will know who fired the fatal shot. By law, the identities of those selected for the firing squad remain secret.

Reminds me of another quote often attributed to a Marine sniper (but unconfirmed) in an interview:

In reports of a terrorist bombing where a sniper supposedly shot a poor innocent who was just dropping off a bag of supplies. (Later supposedly confirmed to be a Musilim extremist dropping a bag of ammo/explosives off at the local Mosque.)

News Reporter: And Sir, what did you feel when shooting that man?
    Sniper: Recoil.

    THAT is my hero.
