That was an amazingly well written piece. I wish I had read it this morning or last night as I got into a discussion (read: arguement) at work today.
My Force Recon retired Marine co-worker took the stance that the Border Patrol officer that shot and killed the 14yo Mexican boy should never have fired his gun at the kid - since the kid was "just throwing rocks" at him. I tried to remind him that rocks can cause serious injury or death and the Border Patrol officer had the right/responsibility to defend himself.
