Thanks, were you able to get out?

I plan to do a few more runs before it gets too cold, and then likely a few snow runs. Hopefully a few of us can get out. I'd like to do a longer, higher climb, but won't travel too far from civilization with only one rig.

No, I didn't get any 4WD in. I did some interval training at 12,800 feet though, short intervals though because the air is thin. I watched the clouds gather on my way back to the truck around 11AM.

I think we'll be getting winter sooner this year than in previous years.

Let's try Waldorf Road/Argentine Pass next Sunday. We can meet in Georgetown at 8AM at the Shell station. I do not want to get caught in a T-storm at 12,000 feet.

Edit on 8 17 13 - No Go on Argentine Pass

Anybody want to get out tomorrow? Don't know where yet, but won't be able to take off until around noon.

Yup, I happen to enjoy afternoon showers, makes the "wheeling" experience much more pleasant...

I miss the wheeling days. I've owned (and wrecked/sold) the black WJ, silver ZJ, and half ton all in the last 9 months.

I was up a lot higher but my wife didn't get the shot. She was trying to yell at me because the rear bumper going into the dirt scared her. Sorry for the low light picture quality. It was pouring rain.

Nice! Where were those taken, and was it recently?

One of the locals I used to wheel with back home had an Amigo, albeit an older one that thing was solid.
