    Default down & dirty...

My family's down and dirty.... sold my '48 pan head and '68 chopper to fund the five bikes in the pic. The dirt is WAY better than the street. I'm down for a day of track or trails if anyone wants to get together.

My primary street bike is a 2001 Yamaha FZ1 that I got in June 07 with less than 2k on the clock, now has just over 30K. Should have 40K on it by December. I have an 87 VFR700, an XT350 for dual sport stuff, and a WR250F that's plated, but used for off road about 99% of the time.
Recommedation for TFOG. Knowledgable and lower than average prices.

Love the pic mx'r it should be a poster for the ultimate family weekend adventure! Reminds me of my motocross days for sure! I'm too old, to fat and have bum knees from to many years of riding so I just putt around on my Harley anymore. Getting ready to go to spend a week up at the 70th Anniversary Sturgis rally and I can't hardly wait!

That is a SWEET bike (the one in the OP). Lots of other great bikes in this thread too.

PLEASE, do yourself and your family a favor - buy the BEST helmet you can possilby afford and ALWAYS wear it when you ride (same for your passengers too!).

I rode for over 20 years. I had my first street bike wreck in 2000. That was the last day I rode; it was almost the last day of my life. My helmet saved my life!

Ride safely and remember to NEVER under-estimate the stupidity of automobile drivers around motorcyclists.

Well you don't have to worry about me on that one when I was 16 I had a head injury I fell out of the back of a friends convertible MG when he was doing about 40 MPH an as a result fractured my skull (I was being a fool and sitting up on the back like they do in parades).Long story short I spent two months in intensive care and then the next year of my life at Craig Rehabilitation Center re learning how to read, write, walk and talk. So I give thanks to the heavens above by wearing a half helmet when I ride. I know it's pushing it with a half helmet but it is MUCH better than nothing!
