Tokarev? 54-1

My dad's got a Chinese tokarev in 9x19 am looking to get him a few extra mags for it, I have been reading a little bit about most tokarevs came in 7.62x25 and that the 9mm mag is the same just has a spacer in it. Somebody said you can use the 7.62x25 without the spacer and it will be fine, just wondering if there is anybody here with any knowledge on these pistols? I did come across a 54-1 9mm mag but it was $40.

7.62 mags will work fine.

I have an unused 7.62 x 25 BBl and 2 mags in my trade stuff not sure what I would trade for at this point, nor what price I would put on it cash, but open to reasonable suggestions/ trade?
