Grand Master Know It All
Allenspark Shooting Range Public input needed
Taken from a couple of posts post on ar15.com
As some of you know, the Allenspark dump shooting area east of the junction of highways 7 and 72, between Boulder and Estes park, was closed by the forest service as a result of
complaints that the range was being inappropriately used at times. The Forest service has proposed to build a formal range in the area, and is currently seeking input on their plan.
The NRA page where this came to my attention is found here: http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=5890
A link to the Forest Service proposal (where you can find maps, design considerations, etc) can be found on the NRA page. The email address for comments is:
comments-rocky-mountain-arapaho-roos...lder@fs.fed.us (email comments must have "Allenspark Recreational Shooting Project" in the subject line.)
The public input phase only goes until the 24th of June.
It would be great if we could get some postive comments to the forest service to show public support for this range. The proposal states that the only solicitation for public input was
in the Boulder Daily Camera, so notice about this opportunity reached a limited audience. It would be great to get a nice public range in the area, so please help out with comments
showing your support!
Click Here and then look over the 'Scoping Documents' links. The final link at the bottom (Allenspark Comment Form) is a PDF message file that you can download and mail or fax. Better yet, scroll down to the bottom of it and click on the statement "E-mail your comments to comments-rocky-mountain-arapaho-roos...lder@fs.fed.us". That will open a blank email addressed to them.
After you send the email you'll receive an automated response stating that they have received it.
