Default UK "Wear Your Seatbelt" Ad - Must See

I got this in an eMail and felt it was moving and powerful enough to want to share it with all of you.

I pray that none of you have lost anyone to an auto accident, but as any first responder can tell you, accidents where a vehicle occupant failed to wear a seatbelt can be among the most horrific things you may ever see.

Please, watch the video and ALWAYS buckle up; ALWAYS!

And now the video has become so popular with the general public that people are forwarding it to friends/family on their own so quickly that it has spread all over the world in a very short time.

    That was actually really good.
I lost a friend because he wasn't wearing a seat belt. Buckle up guys, it's not that inconvenient.

Oh I don't mind putting on a seatbelt. I just don't like it being a state mandate.

I'm with you 100%. I was in an accident when I was 17yo. - Dad was driving on a gravel road @ 20mph. Telephone company guy came around a turn in the road on our side of the road and ran right into us. I wasn't wearing a seatbelt and shattered the windshield with my forehead (yeah, yeah! I've heard all of THOSE comments before). Since then I ALWAYS wear a seatbelt.

Now, while I want all of my family and friends to buckle up - and NO ONE will ride in one of my vehicles without buckling up, I think it should only be legally mandated for children up to 18yo. After that, let the chlorine hit the gene pool.

I was in a rollover crash up in WY not wearing a seatbelt. Luckily I walked away without a scratch but it sure opened my eyes up quick, now I always wear one.

    Oh, oh me, me!!!!

Have I told my seatbelt experience on here yet?

    Short version:

No seatbelt. Driver blacks out (unknown med condition). Overcorrect steering, flip/tumble off 14 foot bridge. I get ejected (through the roof of a 2 ton truck). I break EVERYTHING (aka, lucky to be alive). 1 1/2 year in hospital, 6 months in ICU, rest in rehab/etc. Had to learn to walk/talk/function again. Knees are torn to crap, overweight now, back is fused, etc. But I can still run n jump n gun! Yay! Driver was wearing seatbelt... all he had was 13 staples in his head.

Bottom line: Don't be a fool, use that tool and buckle up! HAHA.

Oh, it should totally be against the law, but instead of a fine, they should just ask you, "Would you please fill out your organ donor card, so that someone else can benefit from your stupidity?"

    Oblig anti-statement:

Cousin (a 6'4" blonde, no less) was in a mid-80's Suburban and got T-boned in the driver door. Paramedics and cops both expected to be scraping a pile of goo off the inside of the door and grill of the gravel truck.

She wasn't wearing her seat belt, so she only had a bruised left side (hip and shoulder mostly) and some cuts on the right side where she broke the passenger window out.

In this case, a seat belt would have meant "cut her into 3 large parts for easy removal".

I always wear mine. No injuries like bigbear, but when I was 17 i was racing my friend, hit gravel on 85/87 and ended up in a ditch by the railroad tracks. I was in the backseat though. That taught me how stupid I was. Also the fact I was driving a 78 gremlin and he was driving a 70 challenger made me stupid too.
