    Default Internet kill switch

I don't know how accurate any of this info is but I think it's pretty funny. People have become a little too attached to the internet, cell phones, and the like that they think the world would come to a crashing halt if they went away.

Just to clarify, I don't support in any way such a power to be given just thought the reaction was a little heavy handed.

Shut down communication and assume control. Works for me.

Something tells me this is not a new idea.

I wonder if Ted Stevens is involved.

The world would come to a crashing halt if the internet and cellphones went away. It would get ugly fast. How many of you have a land line? Who here thinks that every grocery store and supply chain that feeds them isn't entirely dependent on the internet to carry their supply chain data? What percentage of the workforce would be out of work?

You really believe supermarkets and their suppliers wouldn't figure it out in about ten minutes? It's how they make money, they'd get it together. I'm not arguing that a major shitstorm wouldn't occur, I'm simply saying this guy makes it sound like we'd be back in caves, unable to live any sort of life without the net or a blackberry strapped to our face at all times.

And yes I do have a landline, in fact I haven't had a cellphone in five years and that doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon.
