You do realize that you are talking about destruction of private profession/trade property which could mean you are paying his salary until he can reasonable replace the cord.

Saw a state inspector lose his license and got 90 days for that very same thing. Colorado State paid his entire crew's earnings for a week while he had another cable shipped from new york.
