Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.
Sometimes I Wonder if We, as Americans, have lost sight of what our Independence day represents to us as a Nation.
Is it a holiday in remembrance of our founding fathers standing together, fighting against tyranny. And remembering the men and women that have died for the liberty and freedom we enjoy today?
or is it just a four day weekend that we get so we can barbecue and drink beer... maybe get in an extra day of fishing.
Enjoy the beer, Barbecue and the fishing
I just hope we don't forget.
I loved it. Only a person like Robin Williams could have pulled that off so beautifully.
Here's something else every American Patriot should watch - or rather EXPERIENCE!
I dare you to listen to this through to the end and NOT get goosebumps.

that Star Spangled Banner video was awsome, i teared up thinking about that flag pole standing and the patriots who gave there lives to make sure it stayed standing.
God bless everyone and be safe this weekend, watch for drunk drivers out there on the same roads as us and our families
#1 Job in the world, being a Dad!
Wait, wait... you mean to tell me that our "holidays" (combined form of HOLY and DAY, but that's for a different thread) actually have a meaning?
You mean that Christmas, Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc all have a meaning behind them? The meaning of Christmas isn't to get the newest material goods? The meaning of Memorial Day is not to get a day off from school? Tell me it ain't so!
Unfortunately, a lot of the "reasons" for hol(y)days are not taught much anymore...
Intersting etymology sidenote for you: The 6th commandant is often translated wrong. We commonly know it as "Thou shall not kill". Using the Aramaic form of Hebrew, it should read "Thou shall not MURDER." There are reasons to kill, but not for murder. Hence the lineage for a warriors code (die standing with a sword and not unarmed on my knees, etc).
Ok, just got way off track, sorry.
