That's beyond awesome, someone will ruin that for sure.
I'm all for encouraging people who wish to carry a gun to get a permit; but this seems like pork barrel spending to me. All these legislators are going out and getting training just because they don't want to stand in line at work, not because they care about carrying a gun. I guess since they only need the permit, and don't have to carry the gun, it's probably not a big deal. It's still a spit in the face of gun rights activists though.

True Stu but as with all things, people getting the permits can also help as the numbes increase and everyone knows that numbers can sway the sheep... I mean masses.

I don't think those people would want to protect the right. If it were threatened (2A I mean), then they'd just lobby for a new way to by pass the line. I do see the merit in a bunch of people taking the classes that otherwise never would have, especially people who work for the government.
Would you still feel the same way if it was something like everyone with a CCW permit no longer had to test for emissions? I'm not actually looking for an argument, just curious to see how you feel?
