Forest land is great, I do a lot in the mountains in the national forest. Out of courtesy though:
When I go in I take a couple of trash bags and clean up the site. I was just in Arapaho National Forest and the site we went to was a mess, casings, shells and wads EVERYWHERE and so much crap (literally, some guy took a dump right in the middle of the site - and yes, it's human - ICK) that was left behind like cans, bowling pins, glass (assholes), you name it. I filled two 55gal bags to capacity.
- Don't leave your casings, pack them out
- This includes shotgun shells AND WADS
- Pick up your targets
- Pick up other peoples crap too
If you are courteous then the park will keep this great policy of letting us shoot, otherwise they will close areas down or revoke the permission completely.
