anybody on here applying for the second season of Top Shot?
anybody on here applying for the second season of Top Shot?
I'd love to try the shooting challenges they have, but they'd never take me because I don't have the background in professional shooting and/or military service that everyone on the show has.
if I did go I'd probably just end up in a brawl with a whiney ex marine anyway.

i sent an email to the casting people. at first i just got a auto generated response. then a couple days later i got an email asking me to call them "at my earliest convenience". could be fun, but i am not sure i want to miss the best week of elk hunting for the casting session.
It seems to me that there are several non professional/non ex military on the show, if you feel like you're a good shot you should give it a try. I think it would be fun, except I would clash with some of those personalities. Besides, the ex military guys, for the most part, aren't doing so hot on the show. Just because you got trained on weapons doesn't make you an expert marksman. Hell, look at that cop who was supposed to be the "bomb", he didn't do so well.
There's two pistol shooters on there that are pretty fun to watch - the Asian guy is an ice cold marksman from what I can tell, and his buddy with the soul patch is pretty good too, although totally cocky with his little trick of taking aim, looking away and saying "look at me..." - last week he practically missed a target that way, funny.
I used to watch Survivor, and watched the season that Colby Donaldson was on, is it me or is he doing everything he can do be a total wanna-be Jeff Probst? From the mannerisms to how he says things, he's a dufus and I think during the elimination picking I might end up "accidentally" fragging him.

If at first you don't succeed -- skydiving is not for you
I'm convinced the people the producers select are more about creating personality dramas rather than assembling the best marksmen to compete. Typical reality TV style.
+1
If you're "interesting", or could somehow improve their ratings, do you actually think they give a flying rip how well you shoot?
Sure, your team members will care- but they don't decide who gets on the show..
Who knows, they may be looking for an underdog that the common man (or woman) would get behind and tune in just to follow them..
