Default Could this be true? Anyone in Greeley in the know?

So I'm having a conversation with a good friend of mine. He's a 30+ year Emergency Room Trauma Physician, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, and so on. He dedicated his life to helping others, he's a great guy.

So he tells me that his $500,000 home in Greeley is going to bottom out, that property values are plummeting all over the area. I replied that "isn't this the way it's happening all over the country right now?" He retorted with the following: He said "Does every other city have a HUGE meat processing plant owned and operated by a company based in Argentina?" and he went on "Does every other city not only have a foreign plant owner that only hires a group of employees who qualify for a $2.50/hr government subsidy?"

Is this true? He claimed that this company has an agreement with State and Federal officials to hire workers from Somalia who qualify for this government subsidy.

How can this happen in America??? Someone clue me in.

    found this online http://www.newenglishreview.org/cust...7/sec_id/44737

I can't say if he is right or wrong about all the hiring, but his view on property values plummeting because of the meat plant might be a little paranoid.

In all honesty though, it seems like a questionable story at best.

I'm sure your "friend" spun it nicely,

but if I walked to up to you and said "hey did you know the local meat plant is only hiring Somalian workers which the government is subsidizing for $2.50/hr?!"

    you'd probably slap me.

Have you noticed alot of pirates walking around town lately?

I work in greeley half the week. Property value is definitley still dropping, gangs are still growing, somalians are the biggest imports. I do know they make more $ then that and our govt gave them $ to come here, the amount hasn't been verified though. I think it will turn around though.

My word on the subject (which should sum it all up): Denver is an agar plate that someone should have thrown out in the seventies. But instead, it's just left to grow more filth, and crime, and disease, and pollution, and illegal immigrants!

I just realized, that almost sounded like a Batman line lol!
