Default Thanks everyone for thier computer help. Especially Jerrymrc.

I pulled the hard drive on my laptop, plugged it into the cable that Jerry sent me, and all is better. Jerry sent me a desktop, and now it is full of my old lap top. I was able to save all my old pictures, favorites, documents, etc. I also was able to save all my ipod songs. So, everything worked out well. And the best part is since I did it, I learned something. Thanks everyone for all the help and advice. I now have all the information double saved. And I am going to burn it to dvds too.

Coincidentally enough, the day after reading your post asking for help I got told that my daughters laptop is in the exact same position. It won't boot or POST. I've got a co-worker at work with the whole package deal with the cable to connect any type of hard drive [HDD] to another computer via USB.

I think she fried something on the motherboard and the HDD should be okay, but we'll see.... The co-worker hasn't been into work so far this week for me to get the cable.

My wife as told me that I have to buy my daughter a new laptop so she'll have it for school (college). Looks like I'll be doing a lot of data recovery onto a new laptop soon. I've always hated that part!

Good job. You saved yourself hundreds of hours gathering your stuff up again.

I am glad that it all worked out. There were a few bugs along the way but nothing that could not be overcome.
