Default Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...

...along comes the federal mid-year budget review.

$1,470,000,000,000.00 deficit for next year. Someone explain to me how we're going to pay this much debt.

If we don't stop this now, it's not going to matter for much longer.

We could tax bad ideas. That should help. That is more money then I'm ever going to see in my life and I know I shouldn't be put in charge of it because I wouldn't spend it. I don't know how they do it in washington but if they don't feel its wrong then we are all screwed.

1.5 trillion, but that's before that is before the the new health care plan is put in place. That is suppose to reduce the deficit big time

Print more money, bail out more bankrupt buisnesses, import more illegals to take our jobs away.
Ship more work overseas to sweat shops.

Things should have been done before it hit 1 trillion.
Now I think it is too late.

Oh how much intrest is added on this per day?

I think in the financial industry they call that amount of interest a "shit load".

It looks like about 1.2 billion per day is paid towards interest. That's just from a quick search. I don't know how accurate that figure is. I don't know that it really matters now.

    From: http://www.gao.gov/financial/fy2007/07frusg.pdf

Which of course predates Obama's spending sprees, so things are a lot worse than could have been imagined at the time...
