So I need more explanation of the show... I'm watching it on Hulu.

I recently saw the archer one. I've used a straight bow. 100 yards is not that hard that only three people could hit the target. Maybe wind played a role, who knows...

Then I saw the cowboy action one. Revolver at 20 yards or so shouldn't be that hard, most of those targets were not that small... Maybe the timed factor played a role...

I guess what I'm wondering is that if the half hour or however long of their "practice" session is the only time they get to use the weapon/firearm? And then they have to distribute that time among all members of the team? Do professionals not practice ALL aspects of their Art?

For instance, as a musician, if I only focused on 1940's jazz instead of all jazz, all classical, all avante garde, all everything, I would be screwed... There are nuances that traverse every genre and style... like trigger control, basic body forms, etc...

I don't like all the drama either but the some times the shooting seems to leave something desired. Though that JJ Razca dude seems to have most of it down.

Okay, flame suit on. I know they are pros and "under pressure" from being on TV and all that jazz. No, I can't quit my job to go tryout. I never claimed I was a professional shooter... blah, blah, blah <insert your own disclaimer here.>

As a musician as well, I would compare it more to saying that I'm a drummer and should learn a little about guitar, piano, keyboard and bass. That's not always the case. I've shot a bow and crossbow but I haven't picked one up in a very long time. If I were to to spread my time equally or even semi-equally among all possible missile weapons then I would end up the jack of all trades and master of none.

I think Top Shot should pick folks who have a RANGE of skills. Right now it seems all the folks there are 90% pistol/rifle folks - they should have some exhibition shooters, bow shooters, knife throwers and the like, this way one person can prop up the team during their specialty if others struggle.

From what I understand, this would not help as the other team gets to pick who gets to sit out on any particular engagement.

I don't know, I'll have to watch more episodes. It's interesting, but as it's been said before, I could do without all the drama.

True, but if you have a couple from each (considering there are 10 members of each team to start I think, maybe 8) then you can mix and match as needed.

Basically it's survivor wanna-be, with all the BS drama that goes with it (and a REALLY annoying host).
