Anonymous call to the Feds that they are polygamists or didn't pay their taxes or have illegal machine guns should clear the problem up pretty quickly.

Ranch + alleged polygamy or Ranch + machine guns = immediate lethal intervention from the FBI.

I am kind of irritated with all this "Act of war" bullshit. governments declare war, not citizens. If me and 10 of my friends went over to Russia or Germany and took over anything with guns, neither country would respond by sending troops here.

    I'm irritated either way now.

On a side note, looks like one off the commenters in the first article had the same idea as me.

That's not exactly true. When Pancho Villa attacked the United States, the United States sent troops to Mexico to kill or capture him. Likewise, when Osama Bin Laden attacked the United States, we sent troops to Afghanistan to kill or capture him. etc.

The idea that States war against States, exclusively, is extremely outdated (circa 1800 AD...) and may never have been accurate in the first place.

I'm as fed up with the border situation as the next person, but come on.

Highly trained killers trained by the US Spec Ops?

That article REEKS of exaggeration and falsification.

Maybe not necessarily US training, but they are trained, remember they come from a corrupt government.

I'll give you that for sure, especially since Mexico is pretty much in a battle for control of the country right now. Seems like Mexico's war on drugs could easily slip into some sort of bloody coup if the Mexican government "loses."

I can agree. The drug cartels would just buy the ranches outright on the U.S. side, which is what they are doing from what I understand. What will get interesting is when the Feds try to RICO these ranches in the U.S.
    from the Zetas.

It is my impression that the Zetas were trained and orginally outfitted by the U.S directly or indirectly to fight the drug war.
