Body language tells you a lot.

Not making eye contact or shifting eyes down and to the left, dilating eyes, always messing with her persons (moving hair, wringing hands, scratching, etc), stammering/stuttering, or blatant signs of defiance are all common nuances often meaning that information is false.

From my gut reaction, it sounds like she may be lying. If her house was broken into, why does she NOT want help in tracking items? Ask to see a copy of the police report.

Trust your gut.

I know you said PM, but this is general information. If you're worried about appearances, etc. Invite her to your house so she can she how you liv and judge her reaction from there....
