    Default Who wants some beer!

I need to have my new CB wired in and I am not very good with electrical. I'm sure its easy, but I am still hesitant because I don't know what I am doing.

I have it all mounted and the cable is ran, I just need it powered up.

You provide the electrical knowledge, and I will provide the beer!

    Thanks

No its not! If you know how to do it, I'll grab a 6 pack and head your way.

Are you looking for switched power or constant power?

Im thinking I want it to shut off when I turn the vehicle off, or I know I will forget about it and leave it on!

Switched power sucks, but I should be able to do it if you have a voltmeter. I would recommend constant power. Sometimes you need comms when the rig is off, my 4runner was like that. It will take a long time for the CD to drain your battery.

It wouldn't be a hack job. Switched power would be a single wire under the dash spliced into a switched power cable. The trick is finding the line that is already switched...

Thanks for all the offers everyone!! I am gonna play around with it during the week and see if I can figure anything out. This is the vehicle that the wife drives, so I only have limited access to it during the week.

Thanks again everyone, and I will be in touch with someone I'm guessing!!
