Alot of people on this forum have fought and lost friends in defense of this great country. One of the freedoms is also the right to be a douche bag. Any one in there right mind should be able to pick this guy out. I don't condone his actions by any means ,but where do we draw the line with what we can say he can or cannot do. On the other hand I most likely would have pissed. From reading about this guy he needs some help, mentally.

While it is legal to be a douche, and it had recently be re-legalized to falsely represent a member of the armed forces, it is still illegal to impersonate a federal law enforcement officer(military police) and have illegal access to a restricted military facility.

It is only legal in the sense that the government can't come down on him for doing it (assuming he's not coupling it with other illegal things). That doesn't mean that it shouldn't be looked down upon or that no one is allowed to say anything or kick his ass for it.

You know, I've heard of a lot of folks, in the regular Army, who wear the Ranger tab though they didn't earn it. Hell, for that matter I KNEW plenty of folks that wore the Ranger tab legally and didn't earn it in RS, but rather they got it for their involvement in either RS or because they were a CO. The Ranger tab doesn't guarantee they went through the training. It dilutes the hard work of others, but it does happen. Personally, I found it irritating as did most of the guys I served with but probably wouldn't get in a fight over it, likely I would just rip it off their sleeve. However, SF is a different matter, those guys were pretty hard core and might take the arm off too .

I know for a fact that the only way to earn a Ranger tab is to go through the school. I graduated from Ranger school and used to work there. Anyone who is wearing it and did not attend Ranger school is illegally wearing the tab and that is punishable under UCMJ. It is my guess that you are a vet from Vietnam era and didn't know that things have changed. No big deal just don't want bad info out there.

Not entirely true. Ther is a provision for soldiers that served in a Ranger company during Vietnam to wear the tab. I don't agree with it, just putting it out there. Nothing like this would fly in 75th today.

That's what I was saying, there were guys who wore the tab who didn't go to RS, I don't recall seeing guys who had been in for four or five years wearing them, mostly the guys who had been in for quite a while. It's not like I'm walking up to senior NCO's and officers and grilling them on how they got their tab.

Regardless, this douche bag was no Ranger or SF. Besides, as far as I can remember, I don't think I've ever seen a Ranger/SF/MP. I'm not sure he would have gotten through RIP in that physical condition.

Awesome! Think about it, we get super GI Joe here to A) parachute in, B) recon the targets, C) infiltrate and destroy, D) invisibly sneak back out and finally E) arrest any bastard that might interfere with his mission. The only down side being that he could easily be distracted by any rogue Twinkies, Ding-Dongs, Ho-Ho's or Pop-Tarts along the way .
