Default Another Military Faker (in AK)

    This crap drives me crazy.

Re-posting this so it can spread like wildfire:

    original thread here:

At this point LE has been notified and is on the look out.

This will be a brief rant about what happened in gizmo's life today:

So, I went to a gun show today with a friend of mine. We were in the mood for some deals, and in general just wanted to go play with some guns. extensive record let me describe this individual first. 30-40 yr old white male, approx 300 lbs, Blonde high and tight hair cut and a goofy overall appearance. He was wearing glasses on the back of his head, a belt on the outside of his ACU top full of gadgets and a radio with a hand mic wrapped around him self and clipped on his uniform.

I wanted a closer look at this guy so I told my buddy I would be right back and conducted some good ole fashion recon. He was at the polaris dealer talking to the sales rep about buying 4 quads "for his guys." I jumped in the conversation

Me: Jokingly "4! Can I have one!"
He chuckled and I asked him what unit he was in.

    Him:"10th Special Forces."

Me: "Really? What are you guys doing up here?"

Him: "Oh Im just helping out some friends of mine"

I took note of all his uniform bits and pieces and walked away. He went about his business and I later confronted him again and asked him if I could talk to him outside. He and I walked out to the back of the gun show and I began to ask him a series of questions that only an individual with his experience would know. He failed miserably and I then decided to level with him. I produced my ID and asked for his. He told me it was in his car so I said lets go get it. Of course he did not have one and I began to lay into him. I yelled at him for a good 30 minutes and made him remove all the items he had never earned on his uniform. I called him plenty of names and said that he was wearing a uniform that my friends have died in, and that he didn't even deserve to touch one.

This guy began to apologize and back pedal, and asked me not to "tell on him." I began to tear into him and lower his self esteem even more hoping that he attempts suicide tonight.

All in all this is everything he lied about and what he was wearing:

    Special Forces Qualification
    Ranger Qualification
    Airborne Qualification
Combat Infantryman Badge with 2 stars
    Senior Parachutist Badge
    Air Assault Badge
    Military Police Badge
    US ARMY Tape

and last but not least, Captain Rank.

Later people came up to me and told me what he had told others about himself:

He has served 20 yrs in the Army
He just came back from a 49 month deployment from Afganaland
He goes back and forth all of the time on "Special Mission"

When we get there we immediately notice an individual in ACU's. Since this is on Aug 7th, a Saturday, this came to us as being odd. So, my friend and I both being active duty NCO's start to eye ball this guy and notice his badges and awards. Before I list his

I just do not get why they fake themselves like that.
What's next? Fake about himself as a SR VP of Oracle or Cisco System?
At least faking as SR VP of Oracle or Cisco would be cheaper.

Fake business card, and polo shirts with company enblem. He will probably have better luck picking up some stupid ladies! ROFL...

I remember one idiot tried to pretend that he worked for JP Morgan Chase as a financial analyst. His lie didn't go too far.

I thought the federal court ruled the stolen valor act unconstitutional. If so, what can they possibly do to him?

Oracle charges employees (even VP's) for the shirt. Most commonly worn items are no name polos and jeans.

I've known a lot of special forces and airborne, none of them look like this guy! Hell, I don't there is a unit in the world that would let someone get this out of shape! You were probably mistaken, I think he mean that he is that actual PLANE that they jump from because if here were IN the plane it would go down. This guy's a Jeep all by himself . Seeing that SF tab on his arm just makes me laugh!

Looks like an Internet Commando who has mastered all the video games he plays-doesn't that count for something ?
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

Even I am shocked and offended at this and I'm not in the service, though my father served 16 years in the Air Force, Grandfather 33 years in the Air Force (retired a Lt Col) and my other Granddad served 32 years in the Air Force (retired a Lt Col).

More than likely, I bet you that he wanted to join up, but his weight (or other health matter) prevented him from joining. He probably was upset with this and decided that mentally, he was good enough so he made up his own story (that he probably wanted to pursue). But who knows!

We support the 10th group here at carson and my experience with them is they are about as low key as it gets.

And the radio is a real nice touch. Must have been to phone ahead the burger king order. I did my deployments and time in the sandbox but nothing to write home about.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

I did some work at JFKSWC at Bragg while convalescing back in 89ish
There is a reason they are known as quiet professionals.

I always wonder about the ones that bragg up some award, medal, Bragg up what unit they were with and how they won the war single-handed.
It's been my experience they are
    A) PX Rangers.
    B) Brown-nosers that had a hand in writing their own awards.

I knew a guy that never saw a single insurgent, never kicked a door, never ran a patrol. never heard a single mortar the entire time he was in KUWAIT.
wrote himself up a Bronze Star and an MSM.

I dunno about nowadays, but back when I was in you didn't get a bronze star unless you were in it.

I Dunno about the youth of today...

Oh, I was a Construction Equipment Mechanic.
Nope, Nothing super-cool. I had enlisted for the Special Forces Pathfinder Air-Assault Space Shuttle Door Gunner but they said they gave their last slot to Cpt Clark.
