Kinda off topic I guess. Can a feed ramp or bullet guide be installed in a Romanian AK? Mine does not have one and will not shoot anything besides FMJ very well. It will not feed Wolf JHP's at all. The bullet strikes the bottom of the breech every time.
Yeah pretty sure. It is flat at the bottom of the breech.
I'm sure your romy ak does have a bullet guide as it probably wouldn't even feed fmj well without it also the rotation ramp for the bolt is on the left side of the bullet guide. If you're having touble feeding certain ammo it might be a problem with the mags being a tiny bit high in the back. Aks were designed and build with loose tollerances with one exception, the mag lock for the rear lug of the mag was set per rifle to certain specs (can't remember it now) my advise is to try different mags (especially good old reliable european steel mags) also if still having trouble try using tiny sims to slightly lower the rear of the mag to test if lowering the rear and thus changing the bullet feed angle slightly helps (it has been know to with some guys on other ak build forums) anyways that should be a good start for your romy.
As for the saiga ask if he riveted or used screws also did he replace the entire mag latch with a military trigger gaurd and latch or just use a trigger gaurd that is seperate from the mag latch? The military style tg and latch theoreticle makes it worth a tiny bit more as a lot of guys foing saiga conversions don't want to change out the whole latch with the correct type (they function the same though)
