    Default 10th Special getting a 4th Batt.

So, it's now official: 10th Special Forces is getting a 4th Battalion.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Please keep in mind that these are just my opinions and I they may be skewed from my own life experiences.

Here is what I see: EVERYONE moving towards the "include all" and "everyone is a winner".

In public schools: TAG programs now must include all folks including those mentally challenged.

In public sports: Athletics must take the fat boy who wouldn't normally be able to make the team due to fear of discrimination charges.

In work life: Companies must hire a certain quota of ethincities (regardless of who is "better" on paper) to maintain EEOC compliance, etc.

And I can go on and on. It seems to me that there isn't anymore elitism and I honestly believe that there should be. Someone SHOULD be the best at something, etc. If not, it loses value. If everyone had a near mint Hogus Wagner baseball card, it wouldn't be valued at 1.5 million card. Etc.

With this new battalion, yes they'll get more people and be able to serve in larger capcities etc... But the SF hold a special place.... Adding more people to that elite group seems like it's caving to the pressures of "everyone must be included".

Remember this: Nothing good comes from losing, except without it, winning means nothing.

First they take away the "special status" from the elite bands (AF academy, Pershings, etc.) in the military and now this... No wonder they're having a hard time recruiting. God I wish I could've served my country... Eh, I need some caffiene.

Unless there is a link to an article I'm Missing I think you might be off base a tad.
Military units will sometimes add subordinate units during times of war for rotational purposes or as supporting units.

I Find it extremely difficult to believe that the silent green would lower their standards simply to comply with some PC Equality shit.

I for one think that "Social Equality" sucks ass. I'm ok with the fact that some are better, wealthier, and have better looks than me. I dont think the Military is a place for the liberal agenda of "social equality".

I heard it from a guy on Carson... I'll do some googling and try to find an article. I find it difficult to believe too which is why I'm upset.

It could also have something to do with politicians going to the military and saying "if elite forces are so good, make more of them". Well, as usual with the government, when you plug common sense and reality into their ideas, they become a fluffy 3 layer horse shit cake with a goat piss frosting. Nothing "mass produced" can be considered "elite". Take the gloves and the handcuffs off the ones we have and let them do their job and they might be surprised at the result. I'm a fat truck driver with no military experience and even I know that.

    That's actually what I Suspected.
Yeah, I can see them reorganize what they have and maybe add a few to help cover the missions and rotations. I Don't see them buckling under the political boot to let just anyone in.

My guess is they are expanding SOCOM forces to ramp up for more covert wars.

My understanding is that many very qualified people apply for SOF each year, and the majority are rejected due to limited slots. I don't think increasing the number accepted means lowering the bar, they still have to pass that insane training program, right? Anyway, I don't think expansion of SOF equates to drafting up the residents of the nursing home.

There is some talk of Carson getting an Army aviation unit, and putting in a gate around exit 112 on I-25, a few miles north of Pueblo. This was in the local newspaper.

My guess is that the needs to have SF is far greater with the war so they create a new BN for it. I would guess that Rangers will get a new BN too soon because their class size has grown substantially over the last decade because they are needed in Afghanistan particularly.
